It will explore how environmental justice issues/concerns are framed and addressed/resolved through litigation and/or mediation
- Gardening (5002) This course is designed by horticulturists and botanists, the academic courses introduce and explore the multi-faceted field of horticulture.
- Storm-water Management (5003) this course is an advanced course designed to explore advanced topics in land and water resources engineering. The focus will be on reading, discussion, summary and presentation of current research in the areas of water quality and watershed management.
- Conservation (5004) this course is an introduction to key concepts and contemporary issues in wildlife ecology and conservation, with an emphasis on critical reasoning skills.

- Urban Greening (5006) this course will give a thorough introduction to the theme of Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, covering the range from singletree to privately owned forest. The course will give an international perspective and actively involve experts and examples from various countries.
- Alternative Energy Use (5007) this course will deal with the issues of alternative energy sources and sustainable energy sources. The intent is to perform an objective cost-benefit analysis on each form of alternative energy in order to determine what is practical on a large scale, as well as on the scale of the individual homeowner.
- Non-Point Source Pollution (5008) this course is the identification, estimation, and control of non-point source pollution from agricultural and urban sources. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based computer models of watersheds.
